![]() The Pharisees, who were truth people, demanded the woman be judged and punished. He encouraged His followers, "Love one another as I have loved you" (John 15:12).Ī great example of Jesus' extraordinary balance is how He dealt with the woman caught in the act of adultery recorded in John 8. Yet he was compassionate toward hurting people. He prayed, "Sanctify them in the truth-your word is truth" (John 17:17). Only Jesus demonstrated a perfect evenhandedness in every situation. I frequently need an extra measure of mercy and grace. I confess to being out of balance on the truth side. But rarely does anyone exhibit a healthy, Christ-like balance of both virtues. We're primarily truth people or primarily grace people. ![]() My friend Joe Donaldson points out that most of us gravitate to one side or the other. He always had exactly the right balance in his response to people and situations. ![]() We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." One of my favorite descriptions of Jesus is John 1:14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. ![]()
